I did almost get us in trouble coming out of there after cutting the branches. I was trying to control the back of the boat and the front got away from me for just a second and next thing we knew we were broadside in the current getting pushed up onto a tree. Luckily the 40 hp was enough to pull us back.....with a couple dings on the new prop as souvenirs.

Everyone will appreciate the potential severity of that situation when they see it tomorrow.

I am all for the TNT......for the log jam.....and the whole bridge.

I sent an email to channel 5 as well as the state rep. for that district explaining the situation.

Hopefully we will get some action soon before someone gets into serious trouble down there.

Picture yourself canoeing down from Jordan......and coming up to that mess. If you are even a little tardy turning for shore, the consequences could be bad......

And imagine the feeling you'd have when you realized you had no option but to head back up to Jordan 8 miles.

The gap we sawed out is good for small powerboats, but the crosscurrent could really pose a significant hazard to a unmotorized boat trying to get through there.

I havent ever seen it, but may be I will tomorrow night. You would think DNR would do something, I cant imagine it would take much to bring the trestle down going off of how you guys describe it. It would be a cool site to see it be blown up though

First WWG gets whacked with a stick, then he prolly helped Darren saw out the tree (or at least controlled the boat while Darren sawed, not sure on the logistics...). Then, to top it off, he ended up with an orange monkey in the boat! Man, what an evening!

in all seriousness, with the size of that logjam, what's going to happen if we get a somewhat greater than average icepack coming downriver in the spring? good God, that would be a mess. can we make the arguement on a flood control basis?

Saturday I went through the cut open area without a problem I thought. I did bump into something but didn't think much of it. When I looked at the boat yesterday, I noticed all three blades on my prop have been reshaped.
