I've had some luck for bass, but small northern pike are overpopulated in the lake so don't get surprised to get bite alot by pike. use a leader if you don't want to lose your bait.

Anybody ever have any luck with the walters out there? My uncle has a cabin on the lake and is always trying to catch them, but as he puts it, "he likes to buy his minnows 1 at a time."

zzz, Well I fished a tournament on Maple two summers ago. We didn't have much luck at all on that day. During my prefishing trips to the lake I had some success fishing near and under docks with comidas. When we came in for weigh in that early August day I couldn't beleive my eyes. Multiple teams had bags of very Large bass. I'm talking largies ranging from 3 plus up and well into the 5 range. So, to answer your question: Yes there are very Nice bass in the lake but where and how to catch em.... I cant help you that much but I'd suggest deep weedlines and around sunkin islands. Also could try the lilly pads using a pegged craw or a topwater frog or mossy mouse. (Try white when sunny and dark colors when overcast). Good luck and remember to post if you have any luck.
