A good friend of mine that I've hunted and fished with for yrs. is battling colon cancer. Surface Tension and I have have had good times with Bruce over the yrs. We've fished for walleyes, crappies, trout and catfish together. We've hunted grouse, ducks and pheasants together. We hunted deer out of Franks house when he lived in Lakewood twsp. That was the yr. it was dangerous to be in the woods because of all the trees falling from the high winds. That was some kind of day I'll tell ya! Started out with heavy rain changing to freezing rain to sleet to hail to snow, all with winds that were taking trees all around us. We did manage to get two nice bucks that day.
Bruce and Frank helped me get through the loss of my dad by taking me up north camping. We fished for walleyes and trout on that trip along with shooting several grouse. These are just a few of the numerous great times we've had together.
Some of you might know Bruce from fishing, from a trout stream to Lk. Superior you may have run into him.
Please say a prayer for him. We are having a benefit for Bruce at Mr. D's Bar and Grill in Duluth on Wednesday, July 16. A silent auction will be from 4 to 8 and spaghetti dinner from 4 to 7. LIVE MUSIC. Donations $10 for adults $5 for children.
If anyone has anything they wish to donate for the silent auction or to purchase tickets contact me at Reefraker@aol.com or Bruce Kujawa Benefit

Very sad news! I will try my hardest to get to the benefit Lonnie. I also will see if I can get a silent auction prize.

That's horrible to hear. I've have lost a couple of family members to this disease. Hopefully they've caught it early. Best of luck to him.

My thoughts and best wishes go out to him and his family and friends. My dad was diagnosed with a malignant cancer several months ago so I know how shocking and scary this sort of news can be. You can be thankful that he was diagnosed now, not 10 years ago beacuse medical technology has greatly increased odds of survival.

On behalf of Bruce thanks for the kind words and support. He is a tough and strong willed guy. He will fight it. The last 6 wks. he has been taking chemo-therapy and radiation treatment at the same time. During which time he never missed a day of work.

Bruce got some good news, his tumor has shrunk a little. Aug. 4th he will have surgery and will be out of work for quite some time. After he heals a while he is going to have 6 months of chemo therapy. He has a long battle a head.
