Last year I think Otter came up with the idea so get some FM'ers for a Perch Assault in Late Feb early March of 09. I think it would be a blast, I am sure we can fill up Gus's Hotel really quick.

The return trip is in sight now that the days are getting shorter. Ha!

The 4 we left for Gus to mount came today.
Wow are they beautiful. You will not be disapointed when your's show up. It really got my blood pumping when I opened the box. Seems like it was just yesterday when those pigs were coming up thru the hole.

We are up on Lake Winni for the week trying to add a few more memories. So far it has been great.

Still no mounts for me...

Not sure what's going on; talked to Gus several times and nothing.

You know he sold his baiting supplies. He is strictly running a taxidermy/guide shop. I personally think it was a big mistake because he has to be there anyway to drum up business, but who am I to say.

I promise you he is a straight shooter, he is not going to rip you off, might be a little slow and [PoorWordUsage] you a bit but you will get your mounts. I don't see him alot in the summer but if I run into him I will ask what is going on.

Who's going to carry wigglers?

So this winter when I get that 3# perch, he will have to get the lead out of his behind and get them done. I getting the shakes just thinking about them perch. TO, remember what I said when I caught that first one?? Life was great

Boy, that seems odd.
We got ours back 3 months ago and we were up after you guys were. Maybe he just took them off the top of the pile? Or maybe he just does them biggest to smallest and hasn't made it to yours yet.
I see his web site explains how he sold off the bait business and is focusing on the motel, taxidermy, and guiding.
I will say, he does a heck of a job on the mounts and for a very fair price. Hope you get them soon.

If I was a betting man I would say Gus will have bait again by the winter, I don't think he was thinking when he sold off his tanks. There is a place in Bergland that bought his supplies right behind the gas station that will supply wigglers. I think I just might buy a flat of wigglers and keep them in the beer fridge in the garage if Gus doesn't carry them. I will miss the mundane talk over coffee in the morning. My point is he still has to be there to work the counter, why not sell bait...

What that going to be like?? Can you see the problems if we take TO into town to get bait at night, the UP will never be the same. Man I can only pray that Gus his thinking straight.
