The 60th annual Wild Rice Festival will be held this coming weekend in Deer River. It runs Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Saturday night is the street dance w/ Cruisin' Coyote playing. The parade is Sunday at 1pm and Confederate Railroad will be playing after the parade. Just in case anyone from out of town is around this weekend and looking for something to do. If it was up to me, I'd fish all weekend, but unfortunately I'll be stuck working.

so what your saying is the fish will be safe this weekend AND there will be more for the rest of us later!! i did take in the festival one year, if you have never been to it you need to see it at least once. bmc, do you remember ray nyberg, he got me going to it and he was one heck of a taxidemist.

I was new around here when he passed away, but know where he lived and knew who he was.
I heard he was a good taxidermist.
