Has anyone done much fishing within the state park or around it? I am heading up there in 2 weeks and was just curious what there is to be had there. I may bring a boat up or rent a canoe from the state park. Any info would be great thanks

I've fished one of the lakes within the park, can't remember the name but it's the one that the walk in cabins are on (Mic Mac?). Did well in the shallows for northern. It's a couple mile walk in though, too far to portage a canoe. There's a couple docks to fish off of.

Otherwise, drive up Highway 1 a couple miles, take a left and go to Lax Lake. I've fished that in a canoe as well, and it's not far from the park.

I've carried a canoe in a couple of times to fish Tettegouche Lake. A trailor of some sort would make it much easier. Tettegouche has lots of nice northerns in it and is a fun lake to fish. A nice bog on the East end that you can canoe right up into and see pitcher plants. Lots of perch in the lake.

Temperance SP is very close to the Caribou Trail. You could haul the canoe up there and try out some of those lakes too. Grab a map and see what you can do. I've fished most of them and had some good times.
