Does anyone know if this lake has much of a walleye night bite in the summer? I tried to put in at the public access in town on Wednesday night but it was too shallow. I didn't see boats on the water at 10:30.

Not many people night fish after the algae bloom hits. The lake is very green as of the 4th on friday, water temp. was 80 degrees. I caught several crappies in 20-24ft. I fished from 10 to 28ft. no walleyes but lots of crappies, sunfish and a few pike.

Jiggin Jim,

I met you at the dock one night. My wife and I were leaving Buffalo and you were just putting in. We talked briefly about fishing and we spoke of a small lake that you fish in July for Crappies! I fished that lake this weekend and we did VERY WELL! We caught many bass on the weedlines, a few pike, and did well finding the crappies suspended. Thanks for the tip! Parking was a little difficult but we ended up being fine. I do not think the folks who live on this lake are to excited about new people showing up. Several times we were asked how did we find out about the lake and not to tell anyone about it. Don't worry, we did not mention your name.

I'm happy to hear you got some nice fish. People think they own the lake they live on, but I do understand, some lakes get over run by skiers and others.
I try to put people on fish, when ever I can.

You would think with the clear water that the fish would be very skittish but that was not the case. Thanks again.

Did this lake used to have a state record about 20 years ago? I might have an idea too. I fished a lake once and had to pay a homeowner to get on the lake. Access was on the southwest end of the lake. Sound familiar? It was deep, clear, clean, with awsome weedlines with 10 ft visibility. You could see Bass shoot out of the weedline and hit your lure.

Looks like you accidentally let the cat out of the bag. Oops. You can't be too careful.

MrKlean,
Not sure how to send you an e-mail where as I don't have permission to see your profile. I appreciate your comment about not prying for lake info. If there is one thing I've learned from this site it is to be very careful in giving up specific lake information especially when the lake is small and heavy angling pressure would only hurt the resource. Feel free to e-mail me @ dougr1969@yahoo.com.
FireTigers,
Not sure about a state record but your spot on about the rest of your post. A real treat seeing those fish come out of the weedline and slam you bait!

mrklean, I just pulled up your profile, and everything worked fine for me.

dougr, you should be able to view profiles if you are a registered user, whick I can only assume you are.You may want to contact FM.com administration folks by using the 'contact us' link at the bottom of the forum page to inquire about this, and see if they can tell you what the problem is.

ya without letting the cat out of the bag too much it used to hold a state record many many years ago. That is how we originally found it.

Anybody know how to turn on pm's? Couldn't find it in FAQ's
