I was just lookin for a few tips or pointers on what works well out there or which areas to start. Are they deep yet?

I just got back from Gull lake area.. Fishing was great. I hit a few of the smaller lakes in the area as well as Gull.. Depending on the lake, some fish have started to hit the deeper weed edges. I caught fish on Jig/Pig, cranks, texas rigs, scum frogs and traps.. so the sky is the limit!

Just what "double D" said...the bass are on the deep weed edges. Of course a few northerns will be mixed in. I like to use crankbaits along the deep outside edges, or cast either topwater lures or weedless spoons (tipped with twister tail) over the tops of the weeds. In the evening I'll fish the edges with a jig and rainbow chub and get a mixed bag of bass, pike, and eyes.

Thanks. Did you fish the smaller lakes on either chain or were you on the main lakes?

Was on a couple smaller lakes in that area as well found fish on the first drop off cast spinnerbaits and rattlin raps from 5-10 of water. I also caught some decent fish jigging 6in twister tails off of the weed edge.

I was up in the area all last week and we did very well on the outside weedlines (12-16ft.) using jigworms. Caught a ton of fish.

Do not forget the docks. We fished the above areas, but one evening we boated 20 bass in 30 minutes on just two main lake docks. Decent size fish too.

There was a 20" or so bass living under the dock where we tied our boat. This fish would not touch lures or live bait, probably seen it all. It would spend most of the time laying low in the weed and then magically float up ... I would sit and watch her in the morning before I would un tie and go.....
