Last night on the channel 10 news they had a report of bow fishing on the St.Louis River for carp. I grew up in southern MN and this really brought back some good memories of me and my dad spearing and bow fishing for carp. Are there any lakes in the Hibbing or Grand Rapids area that have carp in them? I may be inclined to dig out the old bow fishing stuff and give it a try again. I love my dad's smoked carp and would like to give it a try myself.

I think the closest carp waters around here are the St. Louis River in Duluth or Mille Lacs. The Prairie aned Mississippi Rivers have buffalo fish in them which can be had w/ the bow.

Some guys on Pokegama last weekend said they caught a carp on Pokie. Has anyone ever heard of this?

More than likely it was a buffalo fish or maybe a dogfish. No carp or cats in the immediate are, we get hosed on those 2.

most people bowfish the shore lines of the lakes or the rivers for Buffalo fish.
