Two Walleye Guys, Looking for Bass....

PDOGG and I might be heading up to Green in the next few weekends, ya see, all we ever do is fish for walleyes, Bass are a nusience and are avoided at all costs in our boats. But, Smallies aren't so bad, and we want to find out what all the fuss is about from all these bass fishermen.
So anyways, I have no idea what to use for Smallies this time of year, (or anytime) or locations to look for. Half the fun is in finding our own spots, so I don't want specifics or even parts of the lake, but just what to look for, and lures/techniques to use. Thanks for any help guys.

Unless smallies are significantly tougher than walleyes, the idea of pulling one from 50 ft of water into 90 degree air and then releasing them, isn't for me.

I figured that, but I don't appreciate asking for a little push in the right direction and getting a response like that, just leave it be. Thanks for your help basssmasher.

a good place to start riverra56 is either DQ bar, or head out to the humps off Grats bar. Lots of good humps that produce lots of small mouth. If you live rig I'd go with worms, but leechs work to this time of the year.

I fished Green for the first time today and am now in love with the lake...went out there with another guy who had never fished it and to be honest just flew by the seat of my pants. Hit the lake around 7am and got into fish right out from the access...didn't stop catching them until we left around 1pm (the recreational traffic was pretty thick by then, understandably considering the weather). They were cruising in various depths and were hitting plastics okay but wouldn't touch a crank. Leeches get my vote Having spent the previous two days catching walleyes on a nearby lake I was happy to catch some fish that put up a fight! C&R, since smallies are the best thing to happen to Green Lake and they aren't good to eat anyways! One of my bigger ones:

when the sun got high enough in the sky we could see 'em down there. With a little less wind and boat traffic it would have been even easier to see 'em though.
