Big thanks to Team Otter and others here for convincing me to try crankbaits for the walleyes this summer on our annual family vacation. T.O. laid the knowledge on us last year at a Gander Mtn seminar, but I didnt have any luck with it up near Willmar that year. This year, the weeds hadn't grown too thick yet, so I gave cranks another try.

I tried trolling around 3 mph with the forum's favorite crankbait. 10 walleyes, all about 18" and one 20.5" in 6-7' of water in 4 days of limited fishing. It was one or two fish each time out(early morning and after supper sessions). They hammered the crank each time; the biggest one even broke the surface after I stuck it and I thought fer sure it was a bass or toothy critter. Plenty of toothycritters were caught also to at least break up the boredom. But as always with vacations, the time just flies by and I didnt have time to try some of the other shallow water patterns. Trolling cranks will now always be in my arsenal....thanks again.

Very nice, trolling cranks is a great tactic when the water gets warm.

Now is the time to start switching over to Dave's winning streaks, Hot'n'Tots and yes Spoonplugs.
