I was fishing there this morning and must have caught nearly 50 bass. My question or comment is, has anyone else noticed that the bass there seem quite skinny? All the 15" fish and bigger seemed anorexic.

I've noticed that the last two years I've been fishing there. NIce four and five pounderse have been pulled out of there.

Since its a protected lake, and the bass population seems to be pretty high. I'm sure they are all struggling and fighting eachother for food.

To reach five pounds it would seem that the bass would have to be 25" long or have two heads smile

I have not been on the lake for about 5 years, but I remember catching a handful of fish that looked like that back then

I've noticed that any of them about 15" or larger have huge heads and small bodies.

The only 18-19" bass I caught on Turtle was pretty healthy, 3 1/2 pounds. I think the 12-13" to 16" ratio is about 20-1, so it's hard to make comparisons.

Jim,

I don't know that it could get hammered much more than it does. The parking lot is only so big.

Good point Ray. I guess I'm just a bit defensive after phalen & auburn last year....

It's just tough to drive to your local lake and find the lot to be full from a comment made on the internets last week.

It's surely big enough for Pleasure boats and pontoons that are out there everyday.....

I'm sure most local Bass fisherdudes or ladies hate going there. teens, beers, boats, and other B words is what I can describe it.

It's pretty full whenever I'm there. More pleasure boats than fishing from what I've seen.

Beware of the old man's dock in the north east corner. He came running out with a chainsaw screaming that I cant cast by his dock. I told him to move to a private lake or deal with it. Why do people think they own the lake?
