What the heck happend to the legal size walleyes, I don't ever remember catching this many eyes and keeping such a few, yesterday same story found 3 nice ones and tons of small ones, today I hit over 7 different areas and boated eyes on all spots but no legal ones, even went bottom bouncing today and found nothing but little ones doing that! It's driving me crazy and its a mighty short trip. crazy

I'm with ya on that Walli! Got out yesterday morning from about 6:30-noon, mostly rigging with crawlers and a little time trolling raps in the Bluffs-Kinni areas. Biggest eye was 14 3/4. The numbers were fair, but the sizes were not. I did get a decent crappie on a livebait rig, which was a first for me! I called it a day when the river started to look like 494 without lanes!

It's been three weeks since I've been out so I am no help, heading out in the morning but we're chasing smallies...loads of fun this time of year. That's why fishing is fun, if it was easy then heck, what fun would that be? Think of it as an opportunity to try new techniques/spots, they didn't go anywhere and they still gotta eat! See ya on the water!

The good news is walleyes are bitting, bad news is there small, I figured out the ratio it averages out to 11 to one, taking the last 3 mornings in account, three days 5 keepers and a pile of shorts 55 total boated along with alot of other species, the frustration continues!! crazy

I haven't spent as much time on the croix as you, walli, but is it possible that they might be a little deeper than usual? With us not getting much rain, I'm sure the river's down, and we were marking water temps of 72-76 degrees. Maybe they're in the same general areas, just a little deeper? Not sure, but an idea?

Didn't boat any eyes today. Went to the kini and north and saw them searching for a body this morning. We got sheeps, bass & perch, but no eyes. Tried the normal rigging and trolling cranks and couldn't get the eyes to bight. Marked them all over, just no takers. Friday we weren't getting the size, we got the eyes, just no size as you said. I'm not sure what's up with it.

It would be nice to figure out where they went and what they want. I've been trying a few off the wall techniques that produced Friday and a few other days, but still nothing.
