u missed the bite man, theyve been going ont he mud for about 4 good hard weeks , those fish are starting to come up off the bottom reall far about 4-6 feet now i think the riggin' bite is over on the mud and all over.... try bobber fishing on somespots you mark fish at but leave your baits up likt 6 feet off the bottom, sounds crazy but works same with puilling your spinners up about 4 cranks off the bottom that works also.... but yea thery were going out there but it shut off

not anywhere near the number of fish out in the mud as the last two years. possibly the high number of perch making it through the winter has halted the movement out to the mud. best fishing most of the year has been near shorelines. good luck all

fished 7 mile last night and was very supprised to see only 1 other boat on it besides us. I was expectign 50 boats like in years past. As far as the fishing, we ended up catching only 2 fish from 7pm to 10pm. We went out to 9 mile briefly and between 12 boats, never seen a fish caught. Rough nite for the fishing but watching the fireworks around the lake was cool.

Went out yesterday from 3 till 9 on the flats. Caught 11 walleyes all throwbacks from 22"-27". Most were caught trolling cranks 20-25 feet down just off the flats. Taildancers where the hot bait. Most fish where still just stuffed with 2" perch they were all over the bottom of the boat. Nice to see how healthy the fish are I think we might see 8-10 pounders again someday.

What kind of cranks, color, size etc do you put a sinker on to get it down that far? I have never used a crank out there before...

Thanks

Was out on the flats for about 8 hrs on Saturday. Winds from the south were pretty strong all day. Definately needed the drift sock to slow down. Caught 7 fish all day and missed two other sniffs. 22-26.5 inches and very healthy. All on leeches and 9 foot snells. Like Walleye Joe said, many fish marked well up off the bottom (we didn't adjust, so all fish caught on the bottom). It was a great day on the lake.

hey. I was up on mille lacs on the 4th. Started a little slow. my dad landed a 21inch. at 945 and didn't get a thing till 130 out on shermans flat. Look for pods of fish and use rigs and hang right on top of them and you will get a few eaters and when you get a couple move and try to find another group of active fish. we were using 8 foot snells with chartruse hooks and my dad had a glow bead on his hook. using super jumbo and jumbo leeches. ended the day with 12 fish. 2 keepers. biggest fish i caught was 29inch. hey ya'll good luck up there and safe fishing to all.

Was out on Sunday only managed 2 fish in about four hours. We tried numerous Flats and marked tons of fish but not many takers. The bug hatch on the north end flats was almost unbearble but we did mark the most fish on these flats. We finish up on Sherman's and there was very few bugs to deal with.

suspend, suspend , and suspend those baits, fish will come up 10 feet to hit a lure but very rarely come down 2 feet to hit a lure ....

You can try long snells with floaters
