Can someone give me an idea of whether or not it is reasonable to expect to be able to secure a remote campsite on CFS this Saturday morning. I have a place to stay about 10 miles from the lake but would prefer to camp if possible. Thanks.

There are quite a few remote(boat to) campsites on CFS. We are at Williams Narrows resort the week of July 4th every year and we rarely see one used. The couple of nicer ones I have seen are... if you go through the Narrows and are heading toward Battle Point right around the area they call "The Snag" there are a couple on the point to your right and they seem to be used the most from what I have seen. Most are marked with a sign on shore. There is also a campground right next to Williams Narrows resort that I have never seen even close to full when I have been up there. Good luck. Make sure to let us know how the fishing is!!

Thanks Coach. I will most definitely post fishing results upon my return.

Just got back from CFS. Camped just off MacAvity island. Had a good time getting away from it all. The fishing was a little a slower then what I hoped for, but we still found fish. We picked up walleyes in Winni on Perch Bar with a jig and minnow combo and on the last day had success on the humps with a crawler and spinner. Also found fish on Bowens flat at night.

The mayflies just hatched and fishing on the flats on Monday was pretty miserable as there was no wind and the flys were quite annoying.

Thanks for tips on the campsites....
