anyone spent/wasted any time out there yet? My family has a cabin on the lake and i'll be heading up there saturday. I've never had good luck out there even though i've been fishing there for half my life (except last year on bass opener when we nailed bass and crappies all day) Any info would help. Thanks

Howard Lake has always been a great bass and panfish lake, I have been at the weigh in the last few years for the good neighbor days fishing contest. There have been big bass weighed in, anything under 4 pounds doesn't make the top 3. They have also weighed in nice northerns and walleye's along with panfish. I have fished the lake in the winter for walleye and have not been disapointed. Hope this helps.

well, i attempted to fish for pike, crappies, and walleyes. no matter what i threw i always ended up with a largemouth with the exception of a few crappies and sunnies. I was constantly changing lures to avoid catching bass, seeing as bass opener is next weekend, but no matter how big or small or non-bass oriented i went, I was still getting bass! Can't wait till next weekend when i actually TRY to catch 'em! with my luck, they'll have moved on the beds an just laugh at me...

pulled a couple nice bass out this weekend and when we wanted, caught crappies every other cast just off our dock. Saw about 3 or 4 boats constantly trolling at the same depth all day saturday...not quite sure what they were gettin though.
