I wonder where all the big girls went? I've only seen a couple keepers caught in the last week.

This site has gone pretty quiet.

What's happening with RLR cats?

RLR Cats, I don't know...I haven't been out "trying for 'em" yet. I had good luck over on the Red River this past weekend though. When it comes to cattin' here in town, the hardest part is finding good catfish bait??? No one sells big suckers.

As for the bigger Walleye's, it's the same every year. During the spring bite, it seems they are everywhere, then after it finally settles down, you don't see too many caught. They are still around, I think you just need to work a lot harder to find them and then you need to get 'em to bite? I love it, cause pretty soon we'll have the river back to ourselves. I might have to hit the river this week sometime down river and see if I can find any "good holes" holding fish...

If I'm around I might swing by and see how you guys are doing, might even fish some down there...I don't really like to make plans.... wink

I think I am going to end up trolling crankbaits this evening and after dark on the river here in and around town. If I don't do that, I'll be below the spillway somewhere fishing...but I'm pretty sure I'm gonna be fishing for something, somewhere tonight, I just don't know for what, where, or when and how???? So there ya go!

Good luck down there tonight...I'll talk to you guys later.

Nice meeting you River Rat...Are you gonna be back down there tonight? I'm thinking I'll be down there trying to catch some cats if the weather holds up and isn't too cold...If you come down, bring some extra frogs...I need some more bait! All I have are crawlers and some chubs from yesterday???

Went fishing Saturday and Sunday. Saturday I waded in the river from below the spillway to Oakland Park with little action. I caught a couple Pike and a good size Carp, plus had a nice size Small Mouth follow my lure right up to my side, but didn't bite.

Sunday, I took my boat out on the river with just one Walleye and a few Pike trolling Cranks. Nothing jigging minnows, and I didn't see a single fish on my Aqua Vu in the couple hours I had it down! I think it's safe to say the fish have moved back to their summer locations...No more groups of people wind milling fish off the docks!!!

Talk to you guys later...

My father in law and myself have been out and hit it pretty hard the last few days. On saturday, we went out to the cemetary and had little luck, except for my father in law who caught a huge small mouth........we headed back below the dam and spent the afternoon just fighting with sheephead. Yesterday we went below the dam again and caught a ton of small walleye at the end of the rail, we threw them all back but it made for a fun night.......if the weather holds up i'll probably go back down there tonight......btw.....where are you guys finding the frogs at??

nice to meet you too.. the fishj ust shut off right when you where there it was one cat after another then the cold north wind started it was like sombody hit a switch and they went to bed. I havent gone back since that night going thurs night prolly 9ish.
CSP I found my frogs at smiley bridge by the boat landing they are swarming.. caught a dozen with my son in about 15 mns. I think towards june they leave the river and move inland thats when i find em inthe wet ditches.
