If the deal goes thru on an SLR body I'm after, I will have a truly like brand new 20D up for sale on Monday. The 20D has well under 1000 shots and is truly mint-not a scratch. I'm just posting this ahead of time to give anyone a heads up in case they want to upgrade from a Rebel/Rebel XT body and get more frames per second and a little more accurate focusing system. The price is going to be $500 + $10 shipping, which is cheap for a basically new pro-sumer DSLR. Price is firm-I will put it on ebay if there's no interest here. If you have been thinking about one and are scared to take a chance on a used one off ebay-this is for you. Box and all accys. included. 1st in line-1st served. Email me at: sweetwater@butler-bremer.com if serious. Thanks!!

There were initially some problems with the Mk3's autofocus system, but that's been taken care of.

I don't think they have been fixed, there are folks uninstalling the latest firmware upgrade from last week because it is causing more erratic focus issues on cameras that were working OK.

Oooops, sorry. The Mk3 owners I know said their issues had been resolved. Guess there still are some issues out there.

I'm not leery at all about a Mk3. I'd buy one tomorrow if I could.

At this point I would have no interest in a Mark III.

For me it's the noise performance and IQ that is so amazing and a very large attraction for low-light, indoor weddings. I've seen images from the 1D Mk3 from a fellow shooter photographing alongside me with identical lenses but me with a 1D Mk2n (the Mk3's immediate predecessor) and the difference not only in noise performance but in native image quality was noteworthy.

At some point, improvements in noise performance and IQ become gilding the lily considering what's already been available, and there's no way the Mk3 is in my budget, but I'm happy the new pixel technology from the Mk3 camera bodies is now becoming available in the Xsi, and presumably in all the other new bodies Canon develops. So that same performance should be there in the upgrades to the 5D and the 40D, one hopes. grin grin
