I can't make it up there for a couple weeks which I have to believe will have me missing the peak of the spring bite as water temps climb. That said I would like to hit the water running so to speak with some "pearls of wisdom" about what is happening. Thanks in advance for your notes

Any inexpensive places to stay (cabin, hotel on water) on these lakes?

Little Boy Resort is nice, but I'm looking for something a little less money.

Fishing was very slow on opener...the only walleye I know of being caught was a 22" by myself on opening morning and then it was dead for the rest of the weekend. I think it should be much better this weekend.

Pinedale resort is awsome, on Wabado, if you looking for simpleness. Cabins are 20 to 30 feet from waters edge, each has their own dock in front of cabin. Im sure there booked up though. Your prety much on your own ounce you rent the cabin. This year I guese to cut corners on cost there wont be any one there to mind the store. Its a little gem.You can get to little boy through a cool channel

Little Ponderosa and Pinedale on Wabedo are options as well as Rainbow Bay on Little Boy.

I'm heading up this weekend 6/14 for my annual family week at the lake. Just wondering with all the storm activity if anyone has been out on either lake and if so, what's going on?

I won't make it up for another week (that's 2 weeks I've been away), but just wondering what's goin' on on these lakes. I'll be retired by the next time I get there and have a lot of fishing to catch up on this year because I've really not fished yet this year, so any reports would be welcomed!

I'll be in the area 8/18 to 8/23... Plan on fishing Wabedo at least twice...

So please let me know what kind of action you're finding!

I was up over the 4th and still struggled to find many fish going. We got one 24 in walleye on LB and that evening (5th July) we did pretty well on walleyes on Wabado. Took home a meal of 5 for the two of us fishing with a nice size range from 14-20 inches. Lost two more on the way in. Tried for muskies on LB, Wabado and Inguadona for a few hours each day from 3-6 July and other than 6-8 little northerns on Inguadona on the 4th, the only thing we saw was a young woman who was very excited about catching her first musky on Wabado on the 6th.

I know it was a month ago so not necessarily relevant to now, but where did you catch the eyes on Wab? I never really chase them and I have a place on the lake. Just curious trying to figure out the what's and where's of the lake.....
I've done more fishing from the dock than a boat this year and that isn't much!

I love those 2 lakes. Some spots on Wabedo that Ive caught eyes are numerous but july is a tough month. The lake may be getting over fished but I do beleive they aregonna restock more aggresivly.
The lake has a lot of structure
Good places are around the island on weast lake and along the weed beds west side of first lake. On the east lake just past the channel there is hump on north side. Then all the way to west there is another hump just before the point and out a short distance. Those are a few. Also there is great crappie fishing in front of pinedale cabbins early evening.

Most of the walleyes I have gotten (and there have not been that many) on Wabado have been opportunity fish while musky fishing. We would just spot some marks on the edge of a rock pile or drop off and switch over to a walleye rig and pick up a couple. This last trip we found some close to the channel from LB and a few more on the east side of the island in water depths 15-20 ft.
