Anyone else out to tough start to the walleye season? I have been out 5 days so far, only boated 1 ten incher. Yesterday was on of those what am I do wrong days, I managed to find some fish, but they never found me, only my fishing partner in the front of the boat. Hopefully tonight I put something together....

The season has not be a total loss so far as I fished a few new lakes and also got into a great crappie bite yesterday, it's just a matter of time until the eyes do what there supposed to and I stumble upon them.

I haven't done any better on the eye's. I have only been out around here 1 day though so I haven't gave it a very good effort yet. I sent you an email.

I'm reading you loud and clear but then again, I haven't fished since last Sunday and won't until the following Saturday (May 24). The bite will come around.

I've been fairly fortunate-purely shore fishing. Filled out twice and a few nice ones here & there. Strange year for some of my spots? Water's high in a couple good spots & not pay'n out real well, & unusually low in a couple of others which are pay'n out well??? Just have to stealth fish those spots. Baby bass husky been goin' good up to this point!

Well, it finally happened, put a 15" in the boat last night, hopefully one of many to come in the next few months.

Glad the bass season is opening this weekend. I give up on these walleye's, frustrating little buggers. I've tried to figure them out for the last 3 years down here and am on the verge of giving up. Maybe I should go to a lake that holds decent numbers??? I'm on a quest for a sleeper lake and not doing well. Oh well, I'm still fishing so it can't be that bad.

I've sort of tried to do the same thing for awhile & the odds of what you seek are not great. It's not that it can't happen, but with the numbers of people on the lakes, nothing goes unoticed for long. The experts have always said " If you want walleyes, go to a walleye lake, not a lake with walleyes in it. This holds true with any species you're targeting. But with that being said, along with walleye size or numbers, so are the numbers of people fishing them. Now it's a matter of technique & attention to detail along with time on the water to do better than most.I can't say I've done real well in the quest for walleyes either,so with my limited time frame I basically target what ever seems to be the most active at the time. Good Luck! L2f
