Was out this morning fishing on Madison and a little later on Jefferson and got checked by the DNR at both places it was great to see them out! They even got one for fishing without a license that I saw. Came a little to late to get the person fishing two lines though. Does anyone know if there is a local TIP number for this area or does it all run through the state system?

The Tip number is for the whole state. You can also get your local law enforcement to check things out also if TIP si taking too long.

Or search for the name of the CO in your area, then get his cell #.

I know if you speak with a CO chances are good that they'll have a business card of some sort. I have TIP on my cell but last running with CO a couple of weeks ago he'd given me a business card that had an alternate number, he'd recommended calling that rather than TIP.

I posted this about a few weeks ago.

The current phone number for the Minnesota TIP line is.

1 800 652 9093

The DNR website mentions a agreement with Midwest Wireless and other carriers where they can access the tip line by dialing #TIP. This service is not available on Alltel who now owns Midwest.

Grab your cell phone now and add the 800 number to your list of contacts !

Also remember to keep a eye on the shorelines of the lakes for drain tiles or pipes, destruction of plant life or modification of the shore line.

Have a Great Weekend !

Hookey- Midwest Wireless is non-existant now, It's Alltel now.

You know when they have a fishing show on TV? They catch the fish and then let it go. They don't want to eat the fish, they just want to make it late for something.

If you need immediate assistance or have concerns about infractions that are currently taking place, call the MN State Patrol (the Conservation Officers are dispatched through them) at 507-389-1172 for the Mankato area. I think this includes all of Le Sueur, Nicollet, and Blue Earth counties.
