I was thinking of hitting Tonka today, but have chosen to try a smaller lake due to the wind forecast for today. Maybe if the breeze subsides this evening, I'll head out and chase some Walters after sundown... Keep a look-out for a blue Lund that is always flying an American flag... God bless AMERICA!!!

Good luck to ya!!!

New to fishing Minnetonka..

Where can a guy launch from and safely leave the truck and trailer so he can do some walleye fishing after sunset? Is there a specific time where boats need to be off the water by? or perhaps.. the launch areas becomes closed and locked? I don't want to get stranded nor do I want to break any laws.

Just looking for some helpful information.

Hoping to try out Minnetonka this evening or Saturday evening.

Thanks

Thats a dam good question, I don't know if the ramp I go to closes I hope not, The one I go to I just take 394 to 101 and follow that down and there it's a nice ramp with plenty of parking but I never thought to see if it closes.

Live next to this and yup, it's open 24 hours. Only thing that isn't is the gas pumps which I believe close at about 8PM.

Plenty of parking there overnight all the time, you should be good to go.

So after all the chatter, did you guys catch anything?

I fished the west end of the lake Saturday night and Sunday morning and could not get a walleye to bite. The bass were somewhat cooperative although unintentional. Saw a few walleyes caught during prime time Sat night, but that was it.
