I'm planning on fishing Namakan/Sandpoint this summer and I was wondering if anyone knows what the limits are on the Canadian side of the water if you stay in the US?

Last year I bought a conservation license and I thought my limit was 2 with that so I'm assuming I went this way because my Canadian limit was 2 walleyes. Is there any reason to buy the sport fishing license?

Does anyone know of a way to purchase these licenses online and be legal right away? I purchased my licenses last year at Sandpoint Lodge so I'll go there if I have to but I thought if I could do it online that would be great.

From the MNR website: Non-resident fishing licences are also available through the mail by calling the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources at 1-800-667-1940.

As far as limits, 2 walleye. One over 18.1". You can keep two under 17" and then return and fish US waters. But, if you keep one over 17", you cannot not stop to fish on the way back home.

I don't think the sportsman is worth it. You still can't drive home with more than six fish. According to lloyd, you can take your 4 MN walleyes, and two CAN walleyes with all the proper documentation.

Don't forget you're RABC and I-68 either.
