Tough bite last nite. As said before the fish are scattered and not very agressive. Very clear water with weed growth in deeper than normal depths, a wide bladed grass at depths of 8-12 feet.

Hopefully with the alge bloom later than normal this year the native vegatation can get a foothold and keep up with the curly pond weed.

We did well tonight, picked up a handful of eyes, and a whole bunch of crappies.
Minnows under bobbers or casting and dragging a jig picked up the eyes, wrapped a real nice one around the anchor rope, thats just my luck this year....I acctually just watched my fishing partner boat all the eyes. I've still only put one in the boat this year, and he was almost 10".
We fished one general area all night, had that area to ourselves for the whole evening, we never really moved more than 100yds.

Keep in mind that if you report on specific lakes, you will draw more of a crowd than the rest of us will like when that particular lake turns on. Think about reporting on your methods, not on the particular lake. On big lakes, it's a different story.

Thanks norselander, I'll remember that, but having made 1500 posts, I do know when to pick and choose my spots to post on what lake I was on, I did not start this topic up, just wanted to add some info to it.
Madison has a whole ton of pressure the way it is, I didn't just reveal anything to anyone that there is walleyes and crappies in the lake. Sorry for the rant, I'm sure Madison is one of your favorite lakes, and you don't want more pressure than is needed. Welcome to FM by the way.
