Has anyone been catfishing in the Grand Forks area? Just wondering if the bite has picked up at all?

Thanks!

Whats up Milkdud...Are you planning on heading over this weekend? I'm going over to Grand Forks this weekend to do some fishing. I'll probably be fishing on the north side of town Saturday or Sunday (day depending on weather). I would imagine the fishing has picked up, water temp has to be climbing and the river levels have dropped too. I'm excited, I'll give a report when I get back, but I suspect the fishing is going to be pretty good.

Hey Catman I was planning on heading to Grand Forks and hitting the river on Saturday but heard how good the walleye bite is up on Lake of the Woods so I guess I am heading up there early Saturday morning. I am very interested in the catfish bite so please post a report when you get back, I will do the same on the walleyes! Good Luck!

Cool, maybe I'll see you over there. What kind of boat will you be in? I'm still not sure when I'm going though, I might have to go both days? I have to work Saturday morning till 10:00am, so I'll see how I feel after work I guess.

A windy day on Lake of the Woods, especially with the weather and water still on the cool side could make for a miserable day. I have heard the bite is pretty good on Lake of the Woods though too.

Catman the bite has been waaaaay good on the LOTW. The best opener in years many are saying! Water is quite cold on the mainlake and yesterday we were still seeing some BIG fish with eggs yet. Weather don't look bad for Sunday so I may join the weekend warriors as it looks to be going downhill again after that!! Lotsa fish to sort thru {too big} but hardly any weee ones.

I think we will be in a Red Crestliner FishHawk with a Johnson 115 and a kicker on the back with my cats Incredible partner and three kids. I think we plan on leaving Crookston at 10:00am. If we take my boat it will be a Blue and tan Lund Pro Sport with a 90 Johnson on the back!

We did real well on Saturday. Put in by Cabela's and went up river. Caught 12 fish biggest was 16 pounds smallest was 6 pounds! Used sucker minnows! We also lost a few as well.
