It seems kind of expensive. $20 for 24 5" leeches? What are a dozen jumbos going for now?

You can't get the 5" leeches in the Alive! version can you? I would be interested in those most.

According to their website they have the 5 inch Leech available as Gulp Alive in the 16 and 32 oz containers. They have the 5 incher in the floating version as well.

From what I have heard you can put the Gulp baits from the Red ziplock bags safely in to the gulp alive juice. I have heard that is why they produced the red bag gulp, to coincide with the alive.

I don't think the price is that bad considering the way the Gulp leeches hold up better than regular leeches. I have a guide buddy that says he'll go through 5 to 6 fish per Gulp leech. I think my fish to leech ratio last year was like 2 to 1, if that.

If I buy a package of Gulp, then I don't stop at the bait shop all the time and buy stuff I don't "need" wink I think it will save me money actually.

A friend who tried. I thought it was B-S at first, possible another marketing ploy to force people to buy the tub of Alive for more money, but he tried it and they aren't the same

What ever the formula is, it workes well, we were crappie fishing up north last weekend and my uncle was using crappie minnows and i was using the 3" leech, i caught 10 bass before he caught one, granted those are out of season now but they kept biting unlike the crappies that we couldn't seem to find, anyway after the 10 fish i couldn't even tell that the leech was used. They are very durable and i'll keep using them.

Question for you gulp users, with all this talk about putting the "bagged" gulp into the alive juice....How many leeches/minnows come in a bag, and how many come in the containers??? I could probably look it up, but it seems like if you bought 4 bags of the gulp in the bags ( which would add up to more than 20$) you would probably have about the same amount of bait as you would if you if you just bought the container??? IDK, but it would be nice if you could put the gulp in the bags into the juice so a guy could have a lil more variety in his bag and continue to reuse em..

Seems like they should just switch the bagged ones to the same formula as the Alive, they have the small Alive containers for the small baits anyway, though lately I have only seen the larger $20 a crack container in Alive...unless putting the Alive in bags eats them or the bag, in the opposite way???

I mean why not put out $5 smaller round containers of Alive with all sizes, so they can be tried, though maybe that would kink them up, and give a price break for the larger quantity...it seems like, pay $20 to try only one kind of something that you may not like...opens the door for a Competitor to walk in and grab market share and loyalty, cause people don't want to shell out $100 to try 5 kinds... crazy

Every time I stand in front of that rack of $20 containers, I think hmmm, I would like to try this one and those two, but not going to shell out $60...and I walk...see others doing the same... whistle

I checked into this since it's a common question. You "CAN" put the packaged baits into the Gulp alive juice. The only exception is the Purple baits which can bleed color onto other baits.

Good luck,

I was just pondering the same thing today looking at the rack at GM. $20 bucks for one bucket...holy #%##@!
So i went over and found the Gulp in the bags and bought about 5 different kinds of Shad baits. Cost me more, but i got the variety i wanted.
Now i suppose if i go out and find that one color is constantly working, then i probably would buy the bucket of that one next time.

I think the buckets are a good idea and work in certain situations but like mentioned they don't give you the variety for the price like the stuff you could get in the bags and stowing those big tubs in your boat could be a real pain in the _____. Take the bags for example, you can keep them in the bottom of the tackle box, pocket on the bag, ect. What do you do with the tubs? I know in my boat I don't have a compartment for lures so my stuff has to be out tucked away and I don't want to be tripping over a bucket or have it rolling around as I'm bouncing over some rollers.

Just a thought.

Has anyone put regular mr. twister type plastic bodies in the Alive bucket? Would they absorb any of the juice?
