Eyes, did you have about 4 people in your boat casting in that channel around 8:30-9ish am on Sat?? If so, I pulled up near you..closer to the Whitefish side and casted some jigs for a bit too. It did look pretty nice in there for some night trolling without the usual weeds. Might try that this weekend.

I got two nice fish at the dam on saturday morning 12:01 and then only got one more fish in the channel between cross and rush. I saw lots of big fish deep, 35-45 fow just off the ledge where the pine dumps into upper WF, but could only get northerns to bite. the two eyes I saw caught up there where 20"-22" in 8 fow. Water is still 40.6 on the main lake and 43.5 in upper WF near the pine.

I was below the dam at midnight and above the next day. I hope I can make it back up there this weekend.

I'll be up there this weekend and will give eyes a try at least once. I suppose it'll be more like the usual opener conditions by then. Probably still focus around the current areas. Do you ever fish eyes on the southern end of Cross..not as far down as Loon Island, but in the vacinity of the two small islands? There seems to be some shallower sandy areas that look like they might be good after dark.

That was about the time we were there 3 of us in a 1750 fishhawk. We were anchored at the end of the little point in the rush side.

I don't get down there, just a little at the channel and the north end of Cross. There's just to much water to cover in a season. I'll be sticking around home this weekend. I'll wait utill the water warms just abit.

Well, I tried the two channels on Cross this past weekend and only ended up with one pike. I marked a lot of fish in 19-23ft but don't know for sure what they were. Tried a sandy flat area off a point on Rush and only got one pike as well. Maybe Mem. weekend things will pick up.
