Anyone have any ideas on how I can store my X2 this summer. I am thinking about getting the Northern Tool hoist storage thing but want to make sure it works alright...
Anyother good ideas for how you guys store the equipment???

right now my Otter is up on the top shelf of some heavy racking I have in my garage, however this summer I'm going to build or buy some kind of ceiling hanger setup.
the rest of my gear is cleaned and dried, and stored in the tub of the Otter. the gas auger is hanging on the wall as high as I can make it fit.
If you get that deal at Northern, post up how well it works- I'd bet there are a lot of us who would find that interesting.

I have not seen the Northern Tool setup. But I bought a hoist system from EBAY, and it works GREAT!!!! I have my otter lodge hoisted up with all the gear in it, what a space saver.
Search storage hoist 200 to find it. Good luck!

I had made a hitch for my Voyagor and amde an extra bracket for the other end of it. In case I need to haul 2 shacks at once. So I use the 2 brackets on the front, the 1 on the back, and 3 ratchet straps and hang it from the ceiling of my shed. Works great. I can do it by myself or it is easier with 2 people. Fast and cheap.

I don't have any photos. It was is fairly simple. Take a piece of flat steel, 1/8in or 3/16 thick. Drill 2 holes in it. I did 1/2 in holes about 1.5in apart. This piece will go on the inside oh th sled for support. Take a 2nd piece about 4 inches longer. This will be the outside bracket. Clamp the 2 pieces together so that the 1st piece is centered with 2 inches out each side of the 2nd piece. Drill holes in the 2nd piece using the 2 existing holes as a guide. Now take the 2nd piece, heat it up about 1.75in from the each end and bend 90 degrees. So you have a U shape with a flat bottum. Drill 2 more holes, 1 in each side that was just bent. Use a 1/2 bolts, nuts, and lock washers to mount it to the sled and a 1/2in bolt however long to reach across the bracket. I drilled a hole thriugh the long bolt and use a use a cotter pin and flat washer to hold it in place. You could also use a hitch pin instead. I painted it all before installing and mounted it to the sled horizonally. I hope this helps. The front bracket are the same.

You could use a sturdy eye bolt. I picked up a 1/2 inch bolt with a 1" inside diameter eye and about 4" of threading for a few bucks. I drilled a hole in the center of the back and through the rear upright support of my portable mod, and bolted it tight using a nut and large washer on the inside and outside. If you are hanging the sled by this, make sure that you are distributing the weight across the whole sled and not just the middle. I used my portable mod, but you could do this by running the bolt through a 2x4/2x6 the width of the inside of your sled.

Since I was not able to get out this Sat. fishing, I figured it was time to tackle a better storage system for my Otter. Went from this: To this: After 4 years, now I have my freezer back suring the summer

Yep, a design issue when I built the house. I have a 30x40 attached garage and I always find ways of why I should have built it bigger . To me it equals out. The space was just a clutter area and with freezer out of the other space it was in 4 years a go, it works out just fine. (18' wide by 8' tall doors). I still drive in 2 cars or trucks in the stall, but ya I wished I had jogged out that wall a couple more feet. Its under a foot though, so I can not complain.
