There is floating ice on the South end of Bowstring and a strip of ice across the middle of the lake running approx. East to West. There was a boat that launched at the South landing this morning. Must have been Crappie fishing.

Bowstring North access is open, the dock is in and the concrete slab repaired. No ice in sight. Remember there is a band of ice across the lake toward the South end. Good luck!

Bowstring South access is ice free, dock is in and very little traffic.

Seeing as I posted on Friday, I figured I'd let you know how it went. I didn't land my boat on the south access on Friday, but did on Saturday AM. There was about 20ft of loose ice by the landing, but about 100 yards in front of my uncles cabin. One other boat went to the dock before me, so I made the run. I went slow and made it, but it sounded like I was tearing the bottom off my boat. By Sunday AM the ice was gone. By the way, I didn't run all the way to the north end and found out later that that is where the fishing was the best. We only got two on Saturday and they were rather deep; 20' and 15'.

Well it was the best fishing trip to Bowstring the past 7 years. Saturday we had rain, hail and heavy winds and 10 eyes in 3 hours. we did the best in 3-8 feet with Rainbows. Sunday and Monday more of the same with 20 more Eyes taken out of the same depths. Water temp was 48-49 degrees.
