I recently went down to my buddies house in farmington to help him put in a paver patio. he lives on one of those little ponds that they put the big cookie cutter housing developments on. this pond happens to have the vermillion river running through it, and he claims to have caught some nice fish out of it including trout. I insisted that we put a bobber out while we worked on digging out the patio. he claimed that the bobber wouldnt last long enough to walk away from, and put me back to work. He being the weekend warrior, and me having 15 years landscaping experience. getting back to work, we hit one of his sprinkler heads, this caused him to have to run to the store to get a plug. This meant I could finally have a shot at the lake. i searched in his garage for a pole, only to find nothing. I thought this is funny how can you catch some "pretty nice fish" and not even have a single pole in your garage. My searching continued to the basement work area, with no return. My last hope was the storage shed near the pond. A snoopy pole!!! I never thought I would be so happy to see a snoopy pole equipped with a fine zebco, rigged with a big old bobber and a plain hook set to about 3 feet. (my friend must be on to a pattern I thought jokingly).... Bait was the last thing on my mind, as i was digging up crawlers all day. Long story longer he wasnt kidding one after another small bass and pannies it was great!!!! the look on his face when he came back was even better, here I am sitting on the shore line fishing with a snoopy pole. he said "you have always found a way to fish, no matter where you are" I took that as a compliment......lol.....
