Me and my friends are planning a trip up to Vermilion around the Tower area to do some Muskie fishing and camping. Do any of you know any good campsites to stay at or even a nice cheaper resort cabin?

Thanks, I looked at Mckinley, I think that's where were leaning towards as of now.

What would be a good resort to stay at and then head towards the motorized portage into Trout Lake?

about 4 miles. Mocassin Point would be the closest and we would be the 2nd closest.

Good resort on east end is Glenmore. Been staying there for a few years now. Good cabins, reasonable rates, nice resort, with great owners.

Moosebirds is a great place to stay. Lots of room to stretch out after a long day on the water. Walking distance to The Landing for grub, and anything else you need is in the store. Ron and Sue (owners) are great people too.

I can put my vote in for the Shamrock. We stayed there last fall and will be back June 14-21. We have also stayed at Daisy bay Resort, Pine tree resort, Glenmore and Retreat Resort. All of them had nice accomodations, just depended on the area you wanted to stay in and the price you wanted to pay. We really like the Shamrock for it's location(Close to many of our fishing areas) and the price is right!
