Mine works fine above 1mph, but anything under, it just reads 0.00.

Is there a setting that I need to change or something. I know it can be done, because yesterday we had two side by side. One was reading .6mph and mine was reading 0.00.

Mine does the same thing. I have it next to a Humminbird GPS and it will read down to fractions of mph, but the H20 will still read 0. I don't know why.

Were they both in MPH or maybe KPH? I have a different brand and in KPH I get the tenths in MPH 1MPH is lowest no tenths.

Nope, both in MPH. The only difference was that Brian's is a non-color unit and mine is color.

As soon as we got over 1MPH both read the same thing (even in tenths.....16.5/16.5)

Errrr....neither will mine and I just got it. Lowrance shipped me this one last week after my other one had issues with the buttons.

Looks like it is an across the board problem with the newer versions.

Guess it's not me.

If anyone happens to find a fix, please let me know.

I have the Ifinder hunt, and if you go to digital you should be able to get what you want, I think

I should add that I had a ifinder pro and I liked it better than the hunt

I was messing around with this, thinking it was somewhere in the Trip Calculator's Threshold or Speed settings, but no luck.

Maybe you can try this:
On both of those units you've got there, hit Menu twice, then System Setup > Software Information... and check for different software version numbers.
My ExpeditionC is at Version 1.1.0, which is the latest, and I don't get any readings less than 1 mph either.

If all of the ones that can read .6 or whatever are ones with an earlier software version installed, and all of the ones with newer software upgrades can't do it, maybe Lowrance needs to hear about it so that they can (re)fix this in a future upgrade.

I was at the H2O FAQ:

"How can I get my GPS to read below 1 MPH?

One of the limitations to GPS is the fact that it cannot track movements very well that are below 1mph. For example, you could be drifting in a boat and move quite a distance over time, but the GPS position on your map may not have changed.

Fishermen who do a lot of slow trolling will often use a paddlewheel type speed sensor, to track their trolling speeds.

( Nore from admin, please read forum policy before posting again,thank-you.)

I have a Garmin Etrax and it will read right down to 0.1 mph.
I hope Lowrance does a software fix. As the recommended fix, a paddle wheel, does not work when the boat in in a side drift.

or going upstream on a river smile

That is a pretty poor excuse, it's obviously a software glitch. Especially when most other units will read that slow and even the earlier versions work fine.
