I have a group that is looking for a place to take a shower and clean-up after camping for a week on a Sunday in June. We are going in through Ash River Visitors Center and are looking for a place not too far out of the way before heading back to the Cities. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Bring a bar of biodegradeable soap and take a bath in the lake!

Sunset Resort has a campgroud, and I believe they still have a shower house, check www.ashriver.com, that is the communities website.

We have a heavy plastic bag with a hose and shower head. Fill it with water and if it's in the sun it warms buy it self or we heat water on the stove. Even if it's cool out with the hot water you are not cold. You can buy them at any camping store and their not expensive. It's surprising how well the water flows out, it's almost like taking a shower at home.

I think Ash Trail Lodge may have a shower you can use for a fee...

When Ash Trail renovated their lodge bathrooms, the showers were taken out to make more room. However, depending on how big your group is, you could rent one of their lodge rooms to clean up. I'm sure they would work with you on the price for just use of the shower ahead of time.

Harmony Beach has a shower house in their campground. They are located on the western side Kabetogama.

As a last resort, there's always the lake to take a bath in. That is part of the whole wilderness experiance.

I'm at the Sunset Resort now and told the John, the owner about your post. He said he will be glad to help you out with showers etc.
