Just a check on the ice conditions on Sag and Gunflint as I'm due up there in a couple days. Hope all was well for the opener up there for those that could get on the lakes.

Hello up there. Checked the webcam this am on Gunflint and it appears to be locked up as of this am so answered my own question. If someone sees otherwise or has other info let me know via a reply on post. thx.

We canceled our Friday opener plans on Sag due to ice- there is an open channel from the narrows almost up to campers island open. Seagull is open but Gunflint/Loon/Greenwood are still iced up.

Just got back from 3 days on Sag. There is ice, but nothing like last Friday. Ice should be out on main body in a couple days. I was able to navigate into red rock bay yesterday. Gunflint Lake should be open early this week. She looked dark driving by on the trail.

Devils Track went out Saturday as did Two Island and Ball Club. Most lakes Mid-Trail are open.

Looks like the Gunflint Webcam shows open water as far as the eye can see toward magnetic this am so that is a sign that that it is open. Anybody else know let me know. Any new news on Sag would be good as well and thx.

Gunflint was wide open tonight-we fished the west and east end , no luck but nice to get out.
