I have always enjoyed Collinwood in the first part of the seson for eyes. Like stated, after that, green slime city. Makes a big mess on and in the boat.

Was out on Washington at 6:00 am through noon with very limited success. Had 1 northern around 7:30 and nothing besides that. Tried a bunch of different spots from 3 feet to 12 feet and nothing was going. I hate to fish in a crowd but finally had to go see what was going on with all the people by the rocks and not much was going there either. I saw 3 walleyes caught in 2 hours by more than 30 boats. Crappy fishing and crappy weather led to mass beer consumption... Went out again on Sunday morning with the same results. I counted over 60 boats on Washington on Saturday morning and there was less than 5 on Sunday morning. I think it was slow going for most on Washington. Glad to hear some folks did well throwing cranks. I will be back out on Washington next weekend to see if the water and fish have warmed up.

From what I know of Washington, there are some pigs that can be caught early in the season at night near current flow and inlets to the lake. I've got friends where for a number of years they night fished it early on when water was flowing into the lake, the shiners were on their run and the walleyes were huge and in big numbers. All of it was wading from shore in 2' of water. As for my opener, I was out yesterday and picked up 1 - 19"er and missed about 1/2doz more that were probably 'eyes. Fished gravel in 12' - 13' of water with a 3' Vanish snell, #6 orange hook and a fathead moved along at ~0.5mph. Tried jigs & minnows, jigs & leeches, but only caught a couple bucketmouths on those. Water was 50 in the morning, 52.5 at 5:30pm. We need some warm days and weeds!!!!!!!! Weeds are barely starting to pop up and are only about 1' tall, and are a bit sporadic too. My fishing might possibly be on hold for a while now. Wife broke her foot late last night and I've got to be around to help with kids, meals, laundry, cleaning, outdoor yard work....you name it!

Went out Saturday for a bit but nothing to show. One decent bite and that was it. Weather sucked. Fished mostly from 4-10', but probably should have tried even shallower. Didn't venture out on Mother's Day, but will likely get out this coming weekend again. Hope to spend a little more time on the water and get that first fish in the boat. Lot of boats out on Saturday morning on the lake that I was on, but after lunch was dead the rest of the weekend. Good luck guys.

It's a good thing we celebrated Mother's day on Saturday.
She gets her cast either today or Wednesday. Will have to play it by ear from there on out. Hopefully she's up and about on the foot/cast in short order. But for the meantime, I'm Mr. Mom.

was just out on jenny tonight. sorta had to chuckle a lil 3 boats out there at midnight. all kinda giving me a funny look fishing next to the landing by the inland creek with waders. Casted out a lindy rig with only 16 inches with spinner and minnow. hammer time. got 4 over the 20 inch slot limit. and 2 eaters at 16 and a 18.5. guys came in about 2-3 am and asked what i was catching. just told them nothing. asked what they had one guy showed live well and only had two and both over the 20 inch but nothing to mount. got to hit up these creeks. Ill be back in two weeks from my trucking run. hope ppl can keep posted there results.

1,467 views and 25 replies. This is why this should not be a topic to talk about. Go find your own fish. Simple as that, if your spot is not hitting go and try others. Don't come here and try to get a free ride. People are not coming here to see what people have caught they are looking for lakes. Many to choose from so go and choose

I agree with LMITOUT. I am still reading the posts and find it fun and interesting. I don't really have anything to add because I did not make it out. It's just nice to know that some lakes around the area are producing fish and fisherman are catching some fish. Nobody has to say what lake they are catching them on. I don't blame anyone one bit for not saying the lake name. Please keep sharing reports. I don't fish Walleyes anyways so the only reports I can share are bass and crappies. It doesn't seem like those species are discussed much for some reason.

Nobody has to share which lake they're fishing if they don't want to. A report saying if you got a few fish, presentation, or how deep is all we're looking for here in this conversation plus some stories of the opening weekend and beyond. If you don't want to add to that conversation then don't and go elsewhere, but others don't mind sharing some generic information to help fellow fisherman and it's nice to see that. Darn right! I couldn't have said it better.
