Ok SW fishermen and women... Now that the season on eyes and pike is open, lets find out some info.
How much time do you spend on a specific lake?
Do you have a couple favorites, or do you mostly fish one?
How much do you travel during the open water season, specifically, do you fish generally in a 30 mile radius, or do you take a Canada trip, or a LOTW trip or a week "up North"
Fill us in on what keeps your fishing passion pumping!!!! With wind filled days like today, we have to keep the passion burning!

I'll be first, although giving out all this info makes me kinda nervous, I don't want people following me around the lake when I get on a good bite....Maybe the duck blind needs to go back on so I can hide when I fish.....
The lake I walleye fish most is Hanska, it's close to home, and can really kick out some fish
I go to a differnt lake (other than Hanska) half of the time, maybe a little more. I usually head East, somewhere between 40 to 60 miles, Mankato/Fairbuilt area. I do plan on changing this and heading west a few times this summer.
Planning on taking a trip to Canada in mid July.
I keep up the passion be being relativly bad at walleye fishing, but my goal every time out is to learn something new in my search for the fish. I love to find a hot bite that no one else is on, doing something differnt and getting skunked can help me to learn alot more than doing what everyone else is doing and catching a few. Maybe I'm stuborn but I need to do things my own way, catching fish is all about the challenge of finding them.

I spend the majority of my time on Lake Shetek and Sarah. I have a cabin on Shetek and don't venture too far from there once the season is open. Sometimes hit Thompson in SD as well.
Before opener, I go to the Missouri river at Chamberlain and Pierre, SD. And every October, we go to Selkirk, Manitoba. Phenominal walleye fishing there that time of year.
Keeping the passion is not an issue. I love catching fish!! No matter if it's a 4" perch or bullhead, an eater walleye, or a jumbo carp or catfish caught by accident from the dock. I love 'em all.

Let me just make it clear, that you don't need to name your lakes, just the fact if you fish mostly one or three lakes, or where you spend your time during the open water, names, nor gps locations not needed! But thanks for all your secrets riverrat!

muc that was really a big joke about nothing, I am not overly protective of my spots or lakes, especially a lake like Hanska, its a real big lake, lots of room for everyone, and if something I post helps someone catch some more fish, thats OK by me. It's just fishing, everyone should be out there to enjoy themselves and by sharing spots it gives me a reason to go find a new one.

Could not be more right, Taking fishing to serious will only lead to having issues about where the bite is on. Thanks Nick. Wish I had more time to take my boy out and get away from work.

I'm new to this site but, find it interesting. Reason for the interest is that I fish Big Winnie in late Sept with two buds from New Richland, Minn. I'm from western So Dakota. Those two buds and one other from So Dak go to Canada every year. We fly 160 miles north of Armstrong, Ontario, which is 147 mile north of Thunder Bay. To date we are still alittle nervous about gettting "iced out". But, I surely enjoy the 4 day event we have on Winnie. We are changing facilities this year from Dixon lake to Williams Narrows.
