I normally don't do this, but I wanted to put in a plug for some excellent service I got 2 weeks ago from Midwest Marine. I was out on Superior and blew a leak in my oil cooler. Brought it to Craig and he fixed it up that day with a part from a motor he had on site. He did this so I could fish the weekend without waiting for a new part to arrive. His operation is fairly new, and I know I have seen a few guys here looking for a decent mechanic. Boat is done....now if the wind would ever stop blowing, at least when I am NOT working. BK

Big K. thanks for that. We can always need a good boat mechanic in these parts.

Just saw this and thought I'd throw my accolades to Midwest Marine too. I went to all the usual suspects in the area and found that no one would work on a Suzuki. Almost gave up when someone pointed me in this direction. I got there at 3:20 only to find that they closed at 3:00. Walked around and found them in the garage, no problem. They spent about 30 minutes with me, listened to what I wanted done, they made a couple suggestions and they assured me I'd have it back in time for the weekend.

They said that they do a lot of work for Marine General, installs, electronics and such. It's kind of a drive for me, but it's nice to know that I've got a good place to go. Sounds like they will come to you too, in case you can't trailer your rig in. Very nice guys!

if it is the midwest marine owned by paul his shingle is down. My boat has been waiting 2 months for an ac unit to be installed, Therefore my boat sits high and dry, but is suppose to be ready wednesday. this is the 5th time I have heard the ready date but boat is never touched, If it is the the buildinly by the old midwestwest energy, he is loosing the building at the end of the month.

I'm not sure, but the one I'm talking about is run by Craig and is kiddie-corner from Fisherman's Corner in Pike Lake.

The shop that Viking is talking about is in the old ABC Rail Building in Superior off of Winter St. which is a building prior to Midwest Energy where the coal pile is.
