Sorry for delay I so excited bagging a Turkey I screwed up on some of the required pictures... Anyway after 2 long full days of getting schooled by these awesome birds I got lucky and bagged one! I ended up running and gunning Weds afternoon on a 40 acre wood-lot in the Northfield area. I was really getting tired after 2 long full great days and I was planning to head back to my blind to Finnish the day off about half way back I happened to look at a tree that had a great looking back-rest so I decided to take a little break I set a Jake decoy out and camped out I even set my alarm in case I dozed off. I made a few calls and a Hen responded I actually called the Hen into my decoy which I thought was incredible being a first time Turkey hunter just watching her react to my decoy and wonder where the other Hen was made my day she started making some noise and out of nowhere 3 Turkey's came storming in Being fairly exposed I couldn't move and had no shot I thought about swinging and shooting but didn't after what seemed like eternity one of gobblers came in behind my decoy and I harvested my first Turkey.... I'm not a good enough writer to put into words how much fun I had even before I bagged my bird but I really owe it at all to the Fishing Minnesota Turkey forum and it's members I learned so much in such a short time it still amazes me Joel's seminars and podcast were particularly helpful. Thanks FM and ALL Turkey Forum contributors!!!!!!!!!!!...... Here are some pics I'll need to improve on how to take better Turkey pictures next time!

well I let u all down I guess. Had turkeys all around me every day except tuesday and could not close the deal. What a bummer. I did see a bearded hen that I may gun for next year if I get a permit. Well hopefully next year, turkeys were henned up and would not respond to ANY calling at all. Good Luck and nice turkeys soo far!

Slayer, don't worry about it........it happens and will happen again and again. I was in the same boat last year, henned up tom's, birds talkin all over and even a couple hens so close I could have grabbed them by the neck!
It's about the time in the woods and the experience that matters!
