A little slow here as well. Only managed a couple walleyes between the 3 of us on Saturday. But the trout were going gang busters yesterday. All in all, a great opener.

We found 48 degree surface temps on Gull and that's were we caught 15 'eyes... only kept 8 between two of us though... couple NICE perch too. Jig and fathead/shiner, 7-12 FOW. I'll just say the north end of the lake where VERY few boats were even near. It definitely wasn't fast and furious, but we had a good time in the rain... I think I am still thawing out though... yikes!

we fished Gull
Our Boat caught 4 walleyes on Saturday morning and that was it.
Perch were commiting suicide. eating 3 inch shiners.
That was one cold evening of fishing on Saturday afternoon, we lasted about 2.5 hours and headed in.

It was a slow weekend for me too. Couldn't buy an eye but did manage small pike off the dock, it was something to do. Water temps dropped 5 degrees after the rain/snow on Saturday.

I didn't go out opening day...actually spent the day sick in bed, but couldn't take it any more on Sunday.
Boated a limit of walleyes Sunday afternoon and evening, and released a 28" and a 30" walleye. Jig and plastic was the ticket in the afternoon. Trolling (electric) #5 shad rap was the ticket in the evening. Slow and shallow. All fish caught in 4-8 fow on sand flats adjacent to spawning areas.

went to cross lake dam on Saturday morn to check out the action and saw 5 nice walleyes caught and sadly kept.....all were between 22 id guess to 29 inches and they said the 29" weighed 6 lbs and they kept it also.....kinda made me sick but to each their own...
Friday was a good day for the crappies sat in some muddy bottom bays and kept a nice meal of 8 10.5" to 13"......saturday was a tough bite and we only found 6 for the bucket but sent my buddy home with a bag of fish.......Sunday was slow to start but my father and I managed 3 ok crappies and he left and i stuck around and fished from shore and got another 5 nice size crappies 10"-12" to take home......the crappies are just starting to really show up in the bays I think and the next few weeks should be good!!!
overall had a good meal and brought some crappies home to eat can't wait to get back up next weekend!!!!!!
