I bought 1 this spring, First use sat night for a couple of hours, compared to my old 1999 version it is obviously a up grade. The contour gps map is awesome, chip, the whole works. Nothing bad to report yet but it is still very new to me. I'd check Reed's price compared to cabela's.

Second year running the 28c which is essentially the same as the 27 except that it has a built-in HD. I wasn't looking for the HD, but the 27 that I was planning on getting wasn't available at the time so they gave me the 28. I can't say anything bad about it. Great unit and I don't think you'll be disappointed.
