I purchased a cabin on miltona in July and had some very good fall fishing. The highlight being a 29 inch walleye caught and released near the far west public access in mid October. I'm curious about the traffic on the lake for opener and the general fishing prospects

Any locations or presentations would be appreciated. I will be out there early saturday morning with my brother in a 17 foot smokercraft with a 115 optimax. Good luck to everyone and we will see you out there. Is there anything better than fishing for the elusive walleye?

jig and a minnow or lindy rig on a weed line and then the flats at night the weekend could have quite a few people on there but you should have room to operate its a big lake and lots of places to fish!

Welcome to Miltona. Great lake to fish you will love it! I'll be out there opener as well. Black Lund white johnson 115. Our cabin is by the main access on on the NE side.

Had a great opener last year but this year will be tough. the ice just went out 2 days ago and the water is very cold. shallow and slow presentations. They like the shiners there especially in the spring.

Traffic will be decent but don't worry the lake is to big for that to matter. lots of spots to fish and lots of walleyes.

I guess you could say it wasn't the best fishing I've had, but it was still nice to be on the lake. We were able to pull catch 3 walleyes on Sat. Morning the biggest being 18 inches and a handful of 6-8 inch perch. The lake was fishable in the morning but the rest of the day was pretty unbearable. We caught them in 9-10 feet of water with jig and minnow combination with as slow a presentation as possible. We talked to some others who didn't have much action either. Not to surprising considering the warmest water we could find was 48 degrees.

We actually fished for a few hours on sat. night and it started to sleet. It was very cold and the wind was blowing hard. I heard through the grapevine that the smaller lakes in the area were more productive. I hope to be back on the lake in a few weeks the fishing should be better by then. Heading to grand rapids area over memorial and I guess we will run into the same cold water there too. What a terrible spring
