Has anyone been out on prior yet? fishing sucked over the winter, but I might stay south if we don't go north. Is the water level high?

i'll agree on the too many people part (it is prior after all) but i didnt think the fish were too bad. Didnt have much to do, so was out there a lot late at night into the early morning and thats when the best ones came

I did well on walleyes early ice.

Today was brutal.

Never caught or saw a walleye caught in 7 hours on the water.

Tried from shore out to 15 feet with cranks casting & trolling and jig/minnow casting & drifting - Caught at least 20 bass though.

Tried Upper & Lower Prior in spots that have been good other years early.

Any other Prior reports?

The only walleye in pior lake were stocked they do not reproduce in the lake and way over fished.

We fished Lower Prior Saturday night and Upper Prior Sunday afternoon and early evening. Both days were slow. We tried trolling, jigging and casting. Nothing seemed to work. Others we talked to on the lake were having similar luck except for the occasional bass, sunnie or crappie.

A buddy of mine at work caught some decent walleyes on Prior on opener. He said it was slower than last year though...
