My buddy and I fished Cutfoot between 10:30 am and 2:30 pm and caught about 14.The smallest was 18.5 inches and biggest was 26.5 all on jig and minnow in about 11ft of water .Water temp was 41.5 degrees. We did manage to catch on 14 inch on the lake but most reports we heard were all too big and only 1 keeper per boat.Catchin' was good ;keeping not so good.We can't fish with gloves on and couldn't feel our hands so decided to go back on Sunday.Hopefully the rain stops because it would have been a great day besides that;also lost about 6 others.Good Luck,Salmi.

I'm in the same boat. But I already have plans to be on winnie for about 5 days over memorial weekend. Can't wait.

Magnum is right on. We were able to hook quite a few and our smallest was also around 18.5" mark. Most were the 20-24" fish. Looking healty, main lake temp was around 42 and areas of cut foot were around 43 degrees. Bite wasn't real aggressive so the better days are to come! Ill be at Highbanks Mon thru Wed so I will post when I return.

We fished big cutfoot both saturday and sunday----with four in the boat we caught over 50 walleyes, but only 3 got to go in the box. Most of the eyes are anywhere from 19 to 23 and the biggest was 26 1/4. It ended up being one every 10 minutes

2008 Fishing Opener Reports!! Opening day on Saturday brought many fisherman to the north end of the lake!! (The south side still has ice in areas.) With weather being less than desirable, cold temps, snow, wind and rain made for some challenging conditions. The gap was a popular spot to hit. Many groups finding 19"-24" walleyes very plentiful and the under 17" size were not so cooperative. Sunday brought better weather and boats were stacked out in front of High Banks. Stronger reports were coming in with 1/2 - 2/3 limits of keeper size walleyes. 1/8 oz jig with a shiner was the choice presentation in 10-14' of water.

Funny thing is that I seen several people fishing from the pier at Mosomo landing...seemed kind of peculiar since there was a sign right there??? Anyway, fishing was very good on Sunday in cutfoot...just couldn't keep anything...if the slot was not in place; it would have been a slaughter.
