Well there are Northern everywhere.(Ive pulled some real nice ones out too). There are a lot of Walleye (claims the DNR)although many people say there aren't, its just that Woman is ether to clear, to much structure or the crayfish problem. But the crayfish problem has diminished in the recent years. The new big thing that i see growing in the lake are the Smallies. Let me tell you if you go anywhere around horseshoe island on a calm day you will see
a lot. Then there are the Perch that infest the lake, its not all bad though because a lot of them are in the 9-11 range. so thats basically it, if you have any questions about any other fish just ask.

As for lodging i might be the wrong person to ask because my family has a great relationship with Woman Lake Lodge. Although i have a cabin on Woman, every year we go up to WLL for a week and it is by far the best resort in Central Minnesota! It was featured on ExploreMinnesota.com ( http://www.exploreminnesota.com/myfavoriteminnesota/index.aspx ) It has great cabins, great location, awesome lodge, very friendly people and we CANNOT forget about the dough nuts. God those things are amazing! so thats where i would say to go for a vacation. but if your just up there to fish then i would suggest Minne Teepee its a bit expensive but the cabins are huge, new, comfortable and the grounds are small enough to get around easily.

My grandparents basically live on the lake fall, spring and summer and they say they are the hardest out of all of the fish to catch. they have had success but it was in the early spring in otter bay. you might be able to catch them there. otter bay by the way is the small bay that is apart of broad water bay it is on some maps but not all. it is basically a hole in the lake it is only about 500 ft across but goes to 65ft in the middle and all around the outside are lilly pads.

Ok the walleye you should do pretty well with. Crappie will be very hard to find. Smallies you will do fairly well with the right bait.Northern you will do extremely well with!and the same with the perch.(just ask for spots for each fish and i will help you out) And yes you can defiantly visit WLL! on the 4th of July they sell over 1,000 donuts a day! but yes,and they have a general store too!

well I can tell you that child is shallow and lots of reeds around the out side and islands in the middle. You would get alot of northern and pan fish n there with an occasional large mouth. With the presentations for the smallies I don't want to give it away but for walleyes I honestly can tell you go with what you think will work best because the walleye are on and off at different times but if you find the right bait you will hammer them
