It has be few years snice I have been there. Last time they were still hauling with the flatbed truck. Over the years I have heard it was closed than open again. Am thinking of a trip this year, anyone know what is being used to take boats across the portage?
Thanks
O

I haved used this a few times and it is very easy, they work out of Moccasin Point campground on lake Vermilion and last year charged 30.00 for a round trip portage......You pull up hand the guy 30.00 and he backs a four wheeler with trailer and hooks you up. You never leave the boat unless you want to. Might be more this year with gas prices and all, and to my knowledge has been 30 for a few years.
