Guy at work is telling me about how he fishes for walleye in the Boundary. "Drop-shot"... having a hook a foot "up" the line from the weight, instead of the reverse. Ive never heard of this before . Anyone ever use it on Mille lacs?

I haven't used it on Mille Lacs but I have used it, usually on steep breaking structures or along weedline edges.

I haven't used it. Heard it's popular with the bass boys. I wouldn't see why it wouldn't work though.

I have not used it for walleyes but I have used it a lot for bass. I typically use a 3 - 4" Gulp leech on a hook a foot up. I don't see why this wouldn't work for walleyes, you could even use a live minnow on the hook I guess. Give it a try, good luck.

I went on a guided fishing trip in Florida and that is all the guide ever used. Of course this was for bass. It can be used with a bobber or float so i don't see why it wouldn't work as a matter of fact it could work very well. At least you know the bait is in their face, but if the bite is light might be a bit harder to see or feel the fish hitting the bait. Give it a shot and let me know how it works i would like to try it sometime.

It's called a three way rig. Ask a launch pilot. It's all in the leader.

I tried this for eyes last year using it with either a 4 inch power minnow or leech. It does catch fish, works best if you are picking apart a smaller area that you know is holding some fish.
