Just checking a few things about Three Mile. Whats the water temp., water level, and how the crappies are biting.

Thanks

I am going down in the morning if I can get my power trim figured out. I will let you know when I get back on Friday.

You might want to check out iowaoutdoors or hawgz sites. There is a lot of talk about 3 Mile and other lakes in the area.

Well, I got back early this a.m. We caught quite a few crappies and an accidental walleye. The crappies are starting to move shallower. The reports from 12 Mile were good for bluegills and walleyes. I had never been there before. There is a very nice campground, good fishing and the bait shop in Creston had quality bait. It was a good trip and I will go back.

Had great luck. Found the crappies in 3-5 FOW around brush and layover logs. Slip bobbers and tubes were the hot number on Wednesday and Thursday. There was another boat that was just killing the fish on minnows but we could not buy a bite on them. Hot colors were pink/white, red/white, pearl, and glitter clear/red. Caught about 125 in 2 days, averaging about 9 1/2- 11 inches.

One question, whats with all of the yellow bass?

Hope everyone else had great luck also.

Nice report. cool Those yellows are a problem down in that area. People have thrown them in the lakes thinking they are helping but the government has had to drain the lakes to get rid of them. Too bad. mad
