There is alot more sturcture than a guy thinks, as 88 said, alot of the lake is 4-6 ft, but a very good portion is dredged, down to 12 ft, some places down to 16.

There is more structer than just shore line/dredge line breaks, but it isn't your classic structure in the sense that it is usually very small and a depth change of only a foot can make a huge differnce.

I couldn't find a lake map but I like to use this report from the Dnr to see what has been going on at the lake http://www.dnr.state.mn.us/lakefind

Hey Riverrat - Do you know how the bite is on Hanska lately? I was there saturday and tried every shore spot I know about and I had some really good hits but didn't land anything. Had two twisters ripped in half on two really nice bites so I slowed my retrieve down but it didn't help. Just wondering if you had heard any reports. Thanks.

It's been hit or miss latley, keep at it, good times are still to come out there...

Keep pounding away, sometimes fish move into a spot and it can turn on when you didn't catch a thing for the last 2 hours.

Hopefully you are right. I did spend a good amount of time at each spot but I did stick with the twister most of the time and didn't stop for any live bait. Might have to switch it up a little with some rapalas or something. I will have to try it again soon. Thanks.

I just talked to someone who fished Hanska last night, not a thing, I haven't been out there for awhile, so until the baitfish start to school up, it might be slow. I hear they are catching some eye's on the MN river around New ulm, if your already coming down this way, that might be a bit closer option.

Yeah I was actually fishing the river before all the rain and was doing quite well. It is a long drive to Hanska but it is nice to have different spots to fish from shore. I will probably stay closer to Mankato this weekend and keep an eye on fishing reports, hopefully it picks up.

Riverrat any other lakes around your area that you like to fish? I have a lot of buddies around there and would love to get them out, not asking for hot spots but just some help in narrowing my options when I start heading out that way would be great!
