By running a seperate ground you eliminate the possibility of loss of a contact ground to the siding. The siding is going to move slightly while towing, and running a seperate ground eliminates this problem. I did it the same way that you did and had too many ground problems. When I ran a seperate ground(too each stud), I noticed that the lights were brighter and never had any issues after that. I wouldn't do it any other way after that.

as you walk in your door, I would put the bench seat on the far right wall (rear of the trailer). In mine I'll be doing the same and will hinge the top for underneath storage (batteries, forced air furnace, etc.). then you can put another stationary or fold-up bunk above it. if you decide, you can do fold down bunks on the sides as well.
what are you putting in the v-front? mine will take up half for a toilet stall and the other will house the oven/stovetop and a shelf for the tv above. then just run the holes on the side walls.

did you do 12 volt and 110? nice to have the option to hook up a generator. did you decide on your heat? what are you doing for a floor plan?
you know, you're gonna have to keep posting on this topic for quite awhile...let everyone know after the winter what you like about your house and what you would have done differently. did you know what you were getting into? great thread, can't wait to see new pics.

I ran 110 and 12 volt. I have not bought a heat source yet. Probably will go with a 20,000 btu empire direct vent. Bunks on back wall and kitchen in the v front. Just dropped the house off to be spray foamed. will take pics when i get it back.

for a bench seat i made a futon type couch that will pull out into a full sized bed and bought a good quality futon matress. then i put a drop down (hinged at the bottom) door on the front of it. it you are going to spend any amount of time iniit dont skimp on the matress. you also need to mount a couple of good quality fasteners to keep it in place while travelling. ... paul

Yes, do not skimp on the mattress... I bought two from Fish House Supply that has made it thru my last 2 fish houses (4 years now) and foam is still in great shape. A buddy of mine tried to save $20 a cushion that he got from Milaca Unclaimed freight. He threw both away after one season because of the poor quality. He said after only a few times of use they would bottom out when sleeping because of the cheap foam.

Very nice so far. I envy you doing that. I wish I had the coin to set one up. Maybe in a few years. But you are doing a great job and it's so nice to see it piece by piece. I'm sure you are helping a lot of DIY'ers get up the nerve to take one of these on.
