I heard the one can buy grouse and place them on yur land for training your dog before season opener.

Any truth??

I don't believe grouse can be domesticated, if that's true then they would have to trap wild birds and I have never heard of anyone doing this other than researchers. I doubt it's true but I guess it could be.

An old teacher of mine used to pen raise grouse. So it can be done. He told me the same info you heard. Get a couple of flight clipped birds and train your dogs with them.

Mabe it is an old wives tail???
